Issues of building up cooperation in the field of healthcare discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Delhi, as part of a busy program of the visit of the government delegation of Uzbekistan, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev held talks with the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Chemistry and Fertilizers of India Mansuhom Mandavia.

Opening the conversation, the parties stressed that with the support of the leadership of the two countries, strategic partnership relations have reached a qualitatively new level and today cover almost all areas. It was noted with satisfaction that the investment projects implemented by Indian companies on the territory of Uzbekistan cover, among other things, the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Thus, the implementation of 22 investment projects with the participation of Indian capital is currently ongoing. In addition, work is underway to open branches of leading Indian medical clinics in Uzbekistan, such as Eurosun healthcare in Tashkent, Apollo hospital enterprises in the Fergana region, Mitesh Varma in the Namangan region and others.

As part of the further expansion of partnerships, the Uzbek side proposed to direct efforts towards the implementation of joint projects for the production of medicines. The importance of organizing training courses for Uzbek specialists in the most popular areas of medicine - surgery, orthopedics and radiology was also noted.

During the dialogue, the parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest. It is planned to continue a constructive dialogue in order to effectively implement the entire range of agreements in practice.
