Government defines order of air tickets’ sales
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On introduction of changes and amendments to resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan from 1 August 2011 “On measures on ordering realization of air transportation services”.

The resolution introduces additional order, envisaging sales of air tickets for foreign currency, including transit transportation, from 1 January 2013.

According to the document, foreign air transporters, their representatives and agents can sell air tickets for hard currency to residents and non-residents of Uzbekistan, regardless of the point of departure and arrival.

At the same time, the foreign air companies can sell tickets in Uzbek national currency to residents of Uzbekistan to cover their expenses in territory of the country.

National air companies can sell tickets for hard currency to non-residents of Uzbekistan, regardless of the point of departure and arrival. They can also sell tickets in hard currency to residence of Uzbekistan if the departure point locates outside Uzbekistan.

Foreign airlines can open their offices in Uzbekistan to realize their tickets in the country. Air tickets of foreign companies can be realized through offices, agents and sub-agents in Uzbekistan.

Agents should transfer revenues, received from sales of air tickets, to accounts of representative offices in Uzbekistan, excluding commission fees. The document said 50% of revenue in hard currency will not be realized to the government on mandatory basis.

Legal entities, both residents and non-residents, should pay for air tickets of their employees, based on the residence status of workers.

At re-booking or re-registration of air tickets, all fees will received in soums both from residents and non-residents of Uzbekistan. Both residents and non-residents can pay for extra luggage in national currency.

The document said that all fines and additional payments to ticket prices will be paid in those currency, which was used to purchase tickets.
