The second main export item of Uzbekistan was services, share of which was 16.2% in total exports of Uzbekistan in 2012 (11.8% in 2011).
Cotton-fiber claimed the third place with the share of 8.8% in January-December 2012 against 9% in the same period of 2011, the committee said.
Share of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in exports of Uzbekistan was 7.4% in 2012 (7.4% in 2011) and machinery and equipment – 6.4% (6.7%).
Share of food products in exports made u 6.2% (13.2%) and chemical products – 5.4% (5.6%), the committee added.
The main import items of Uzbekistan were machines and equipment, which accounted 45.4% of imports (41.3%) in the reporting period.
Uzbekistan imported chemical products and plastics (14.4% in total imports in 2012 and 13.3% in 2011), food products (9.9% and 12.4%), ferrous and non-ferrous metals (7.9% and 8.1%), energy and oil products (7.3% and 8.1%), as well as services (6.1% and 5.3%).
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$26.286 billion in January-December 2012, which grew by 0.9% year-on-year.
