Dialogue in Almaty: new projects will be created in cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Almaty, within the framework of the international exhibition Elite Line-2022, with the assistance of the Consulate of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan, a delegation of the Uzcharmsanoat Association and its enterprises met with the Association of Light Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The topic of the dialogue was the development of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.

At the beginning of the meeting, the leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat Association provided the Kazakh side with information on the decisions and regulations adopted by the state in order to further develop the leather and footwear and fur and fur industries of our country, the conditions and benefits created for foreign and local investors, tax and customs benefits, simplified procedure for export-import operations.

During the meeting, representatives of the Association of Light Industry of Kazakhstan presented information on the production potential of their country. Today, more than 20 business entities operate in the sphere. Local entrepreneurs produce only 4% of the total volume of leather and footwear products, and 96% are imported from abroad. Uzbekistan is among the 10 main partner countries of Kazakhstan in this direction. Over the past period of 2022, leather and footwear products worth $30 million were delivered from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan seeks to further develop cooperation with Uzbekistan in this direction.

During the meeting, the issue of developing cooperation between the enterprises of our countries with the support of two associations was also discussed. The implementation of joint investment projects proposed by the Uzbek side was discussed in detail. A separate emphasis is placed on the development of cooperation between the two neighboring countries against the backdrop of growing economic competition in the world.

An agreement was reached on organizing B2B meetings within the framework of the international exhibition UzCharmExpo-2022 in Tashkent.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum was signed on the development of interaction between the associations of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
