Delegation of Navio power station heads to Japan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A group of leading specialists of Navoi thermal power station led by deputy senior engineer on reconstruction and modernization of the station Azimjon Yakubov head to Japan, the press service of the station said.

The visit was organized at the invitation of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which is potential financial donor of large investment project on construction of combined-cycle plant with the capacity of 450 megawatt at Navoi thermal power station.

Navoi thermal power station hopes that the sides will agree technical, ecological and social aspects of construction of combined-cycle plant at the station. It is expected that during the visit, the delegation will determine terms of participation of JICA in financing of the investment project with management of the organization.

The station underlined that positive experience on installation of combined-cycle plant with the capacity of 478 megawatt will allow to implement this project successfully. The station will increase production of electricity by 1.5 times once the combined-cycle plant will reach its full capacity.

Japan’s Mitsubishi supplied combined-cycle plant with the capacity of 478 megawatt to Navoi thermal power station. The project will allow to produce 2.8 billion KWH of electricity a year and cut consumption of fuel by 1.8 times. It will save 400 million tonnes of gas or over US$110 million.

Currently, combined-cycle plant is working with load of 460 megawatt. It is expected that soon combined-cycle plant will reach design capacity.

It is expected that Navoi thermal power station will launch construction of combined-cycle plant in March 2013.
