CERR: Which regions of Uzbekistan showed the greatest business activity in July 2022

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An analysis of business activity by regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan is calculated monthly by the CERR based on operational data (monitoring for all regions of the republic, according to the State Customs Committee, State Tax Committee, Central Bank and UzEX).

The monitoring results showed the volume of tax revenues of the republic in the period from 1 January to 31 July 2022 increased by 15.9% compared to the same period of last year.

At the same time, a significant increase in tax revenues was noted in Ferghana (by 39.4%), Samarkand (by 35.3%), Surkhandarya (by 34.5%), Syrdarya (by 34.4%), Bukhara (by 33. 9%), Khorezm (by 32.4%) regions and in the city of Tashkent (by 42.6%).

The growth of tax revenues was ensured by positive changes in the economy, improvement of the tax administration system, including the introduction of new administrative tools, digitalization and automation of processes, legalization of business activities and simplification of the procedure for complying with tax legislation, the CERR stated.

Revenues from customs payments for the analyzed period increased by 41.9% compared to the same period in 2021. The largest increase in customs revenues was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (by 62.8%), Andijan (by 57.2%), Bukhara (by 51.7%), Jizzakh (by 47.4%), Khorezm (by 46.5%). ), regions and in Tashkent city (by 48.4%).

The increase in customs revenues was ensured by the growth of foreign trade turnover, an increase in the country’s production capacities, simplification of customs administration procedures, digitalization and automation of processes, including the widespread use of a risk management system by the customs authorities.

According to the State Customs Committee, the volume of exports of goods from the beginning of the current year to 31 July increased by 22.3% compared to the same period of last year. A significant increase in the volume of exports of goods was noted in Kashkadarya (by 45.0%), Samarkand (by 41.4%), Andijan (by 32.5%), Namangan (by 31.3%), Ferghana (by 25.1%) regions and in Tashkent city (by 44.5%).

The increase in Uzbekistan’s exports is due to the growing growth in exports of industrial goods, foodstuffs, chemicals and agri-food products.

The decrease in the export of goods was observed in Bukhara (by 16.7%), Surkhandarya (by 7.8%) regions and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (by 15.9%).

The decrease in exports in the Bukhara region is due to the fact that in January-July 2022, the export of cotton fiber in the Bukhara region decreased, which is associated with the direction of these products to the domestic market.

The decrease in exports in the Republic of Karakalpakstan is explained by a decrease in exports of plastics and products made from them and yarn, pharmaceutical products (from licorice root) and the complete abolition of exports of cotton fiber with the redirection of these products to the domestic market.

In turn, the decrease in the volume of exports in Surkhandarya region is associated with a decrease in the export of fruits and vegetables and the redirection of cotton fiber and yarn to the domestic market.

The volume of loans issued by commercial banks in the period from 1 January to 31 July 2022 increased by 13.3% compared to the same period of last year.

A significant increase in the volume of loans issued is observed in Ferghana (by 34.4%), Andijan (22.8%), Khorezm (18.0%), Samarkand (16.4%) regions, Tashkent (19.1%) and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (31.2%).

In Syrdarya (by -31.6%), Surkhandarya (by -2.6%) and Navoi (by -1.8%), there is a decrease in the issuance of loans, which is associated with the issuance of large loans in 2021 for textile and other industrial projects in these areas.

The volume of transactions at the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange for the analyzed period increased by 44.1%. A significant increase in exchange activity is observed in Khorezm (by 69.3%), Navoi (by 60.1%), Jizzakh (by 56.4%), Tashkent (by 48.1%) regions and in Tashkent (by 62 ,5%).

Growth in the volume of transactions in these regions was ensured by increasing the sale of such goods as mineral fertilizers, industrial seeds, vegetable oil, motor gasoline, construction and household materials, diesel fuel, wheat flour, cotton fiber, rolled ferrous and non-ferrous metals, polyethylene, ethyl alcohol etc.

At the same time, a decrease of 1.6% was observed in Syrdarya region, which is explained by a decrease in the number and volume of transactions for the sale of polypropylene, cotton fiber, vegetable oil, industrial seeds, non-ferrous and ferrous metals, cement, meal and husk, livestock feed, soap product , and technical oil.

During the analyzed period, 55,740 new economic entities were created, the largest number of which was registered in Samarkand (7,183), Kashkadarya (5,593), Ferghana (5,099), Tashkent (4,107), Andijan (3,702) regions and in the city of Tashkent. Tashkent (8,990).
