Andijan region’s GRP grows by 8.4% in 2012
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of gross regional product of Andijan region grew by 8.4% year-on-year in 2012, the session of local council said.

Industrial output of the region rose by 9.3%, agriculture production – 7.6%, and construction works – 13.6% in 2012.

The session of the council said that the service sector rose by 16.3% in 2012, UzA reported.

Enterprises of Andijan region within localization programme produced goods for 74.6 billion soums.

In 2012, the region created 2,290 small and private businesses. Share of the sector in gross regional product made up 57.4%.

The session said that over 79,000 new jobs were created in the region. About 75% of them were created due to small and private business development. Some 42,600 college graduates were employed in the reporting period.

The region spent 260.198 billion soums and US$1.151 m illion to implementation of the programme “The Year of Family”.
