AGMK to launch production of copper pipes at Angren industrial zone
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine (AGMK) started implementation of a project on organization of production of copper pipes of various diameters at the special industrial zone Angren, the press service of the company said.

The press service of AGMK said that the project was included to investment programme of Uzbekistan for 2013.

The project is aimed at creating local production of copper pipes, complex use of raw materials, increase products, manufactured from copper, satisfy demand of population in copper pipes in internal market and export them.

The company said that Dubai construction company will build the plant. Chinese firm supplies equipment for the plant.

The plant will produce 8,000 tonnes of copper pipes of various diameters. It is expected that 7,600 tonnes of copper pipes will be exported. The plant will create 168 new jobs.

The combine said that the plant will have laboratory, warehouse and automobile entrance zones.

The project cost is 19.508 billion soums. It will be financed due to own resources of AGMK and loans of commercial banks. The plant will be launched by the end of 2013.
