The freight turnover was 84.8 billion tonnes-km and has exceeded the level of January- December 2011 by 5.2%, the committee said.
Some 1.216 billion tonnes of freights were carried by motor transport, which is 5.2% more than in January-December 2011. The freight turnover has increased by 6.1% to 27.7 billion tonnes-km.
The freight turnover of motor transport of individual entrepreneurs has exceeded the level of January-December 2011 by 8.4% and reached 20.8 billion tonnes-km. The share of private carriers in total freight turnover of motor transport was 75.1% against 73.6% in January- December 2011.
About 24,000 tonnes of freights were carried by air transport in 2012, which is 21.9% lower than in January- December 2011. The freight turnover has decreased by 24.2% to 123.2 million tonnes-km.
Uzbekistan increased pipeline transportation by 10% year-on-year in 2012 to 65.9 million tonnes, the committee said.
The freight turnover through pipelines grew by 13.4% year-on-year and made up 34.1 billion tonnes-km.
