ABB to Acquire Majority Stake in Uzbekistan’s Davr Bank

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The International Bank of Azerbaijan (ABB) has agreed to acquire a 51% stake in Uzbekistan’s Davr Bank, Azerbaijani media reported, citing ABB Chairman Abbas Ibrahimov.

According to Ibrahimov, the transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026 after the necessary approvals and documentation procedures are finalized. Following the deal, the bank will operate in Uzbekistan under the name ABB Davr Bank.

Ibrahimov said negotiations on the acquisition of the controlling stake in the Uzbek private bank had been successfully concluded.

“We hope the approval and registration processes will be completed promptly, and ABB — our country’s international banking brand — will be represented in Uzbekistan under the name ABB Davr Bank,” ABB Chairman Abbas Ibrahimov said.

According to him, Davr Bank’s assets are valued at approximately US$1 billion. The bank serves 1.4 million clients and operates 43 branches across Uzbekistan.

Ibrahimov also said ABB’s investment within the framework of the transaction would exceed US$100 million.

Davr Bank has operated in Uzbekistan since September 2001.

According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Davr Bank’s loan portfolio stood at 9.218 trillion soums as of 1 April 2026. The bank’s deposit base reached 4.584 trillion soums.

Total assets amounted to 12.606 trillion soums, while capital stood at 2.212 trillion soums. Non-performing loans totaled 290 billion soums as of 1 April, accounting for 3.1% of the bank’s loan portfolio.
