A new gas condensate field "Yangi Alat" was discovered in Bukhara

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As a result of exploration work on the territory of Karakul district of Bukhara region, a new gas condensate field Yangi Alat was discovered.

On 31 May 2022, Uzbekneftegaz started drilling work on the exploration well No. 1 of the "Yangi Alat" field. The well was drilled to a depth of 2344 meters.

On 19 August, in the interval of 2342-2283 meters of well No. 1 of the Yangi Alat field, filter tests were carried out, natural gas and gas condensate products were obtained on an industrial scale from the XV productive formation of the Jurassic deposits, and a new gas condensate field was discovered.

Studies have confirmed that 800 thousand cubic meters of natural gas and more than 15 tons of gas condensate products are produced daily from the well.

It should be noted that the Yangi Alat field was discovered in 2021 by the specialists of Uzbekneftegaz as a result of processing 3D seismic data, according to the State Geological Committee, passport data of the field were prepared for drilling a new well.

The prospective area of the deposit is 7.5 square kilometers, category C3 resources amount to more than 2.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 70 thousand tons of gas condensate. This field is located around the Western Tegirmon and Tegirmon fields.

Currently, well No. 1 of the Yangi Alat field is undergoing geological exploration to determine pressure, temperature and other mining and geological parameters of the productive layer, as well as to assess production capacities on an industrial scale.

Until the end of the year, it is planned to drill next exploratory wells No. 2 and 3 at the new field as part of the Program for the Development and Reproduction of the Hydrocarbon Resource Base of Uzbekneftegaz JSC for 2022.
