Volume of rendered services grows by 12.6% in 1H 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of the volume of rendered services made up 12.6% in January-July 2011 due to implementation of measures on developing infrastructure in service sector, the publication of the Ministry of Economy and the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

In particular, number of mobile communication and internet users increased, while level of digitalization of automatic switching center improved.

The measures on developing micro- and consumer crediting, improving payment system, as well as developing institutes of financial infrastructure helped to increase the volume of financial services by 24%.

Launch of over 3,000 new enterprises of retail trade and public catering helped to increase the volume of trade and catering by 18.1%.

The volume of services on repairing cars and other equipment rose by 18.8% in the reporting period. Domestic service grew by 18.6% thanks to launch of 742 domestic services objects.

The services developed fast in the rural areas as 2,063 objects of retail trade, 197 catering objects and 742 domestic services objects were launched in the first six months of 2011.

In the result of the adopted measures, the share of services in gross domestic product (GDP) made up 48.3% (47.1% in 1H 2010).
