According to the regulator, the country’s net gold and currency reserves in 2017 increased by US$1.4 billion.
It should be noted that the Central Bank of Uzbekistan for the first time published data on the volume of net gold and foreign exchange reserves.
For the first time, the volume of gold and foreign currency reserves was officially announced in November 2017. The first deputy chairman of the Central Bank, Timur Ishmetov, said that their volume only increased by US$750 million and amounted to US$26 billion.
