Uzbekistan to receive three TEM9 shunting locomotives

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Three modern TEM9 shunting locomotives manufactured by Sinara Transport Machines (STM) will be delivered to Uzbekistan, according to the company’s plans.

The first two locomotives are scheduled to arrive within the current month, while the third unit will be delivered by the end of the year.

The TEM9 series locomotives, produced at the Lyudinovo Locomotive Plant, are equipped with the DG-882 power unit developed by STM. With a rated power output of 882 kW, the locomotives are designed for shunting and short-haul operations on industrial railway sidings.

The equipment is characterized by fuel efficiency, smooth operation, and a control system aimed at improving operational performance. The locomotives are intended for use in conditions of intensive industrial freight traffic.

The manufacturer notes that the DG-882 diesel generator has already been used in other projects and has undergone operational testing as part of more powerful locomotive systems.

The delivery of the new equipment to Uzbekistan is viewed as part of the expansion of cooperation in railway engineering and the modernization of the country’s industrial transport fleet.
