Uzbekistan to Modernize Social Infrastructure in Bukhara Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans a large-scale reconstruction of social infrastructure in the Bukhara region, including kindergartens and healthcare facilities, according to a review of development plans conducted during a working visit by Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva.

She said several social infrastructure facilities in the region are in poor condition and require urgent renovation. In particular, it was decided to completely rebuild Kindergarten No. 21, commissioned in 1977, which no longer meets modern standards.

Special attention has been given to the healthcare system. Authorities plan to construct a new building for Polyclinic No. 9, which serves about 46,000 residents. The current facility operates in a building constructed in 1972 and does not comply with current medical requirements.

It was additionally reported that the existing polyclinic building also houses a dormitory for low-income families. The project includes a comprehensive renovation aimed at improving living conditions.

Over the next two years, Uzbekistan also plans to renovate 36 more polyclinics in remote districts of the Bukhara region, with the aim of improving access to and quality of medical services for the population.

Saida Mirziyoyeva stressed that such visits are part of efforts to monitor the implementation of presidential directives and ensure the prompt resolution of issues at the local level.
