Algeria's Tebboune Receives Uzbek FM Saidov, Pledges Deeper Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Algerian President Tebboune Receives Uzbek FM Saidov, Signals Push for Qualitatively New Bilateral Relationship
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has received a Uzbekistan delegation led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, with both sides committing to elevate bilateral ties to a qualitatively new level spanning political dialogue, trade and investment, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Saidov opened the meeting by conveying personal greetings and best wishes from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev — a gesture underscoring that the Algiers visit carries political weight beyond the ministerial level.
Discussions ranged across the full spectrum of bilateral relations: intensifying high-level political contact, expanding trade and economic engagement, deepening investment cooperation, and strengthening people-to-people and cultural links. Regional and international issues were also reviewed, along with prospects for coordinated action within multilateral organizations.
Both sides expressed intent to continue building mutual trust and ensuring that the partnership yields concrete, practical outcomes — language that frames the current diplomatic momentum as the opening of a sustained engagement rather than a one-off exchange.
The Tebboune meeting caps a busy day of Uzbek diplomatic activity in Algiers, where Saidov also held separate talks with Algeria's ministers of mining and foreign trade, agreeing proposals for a joint intergovernmental commission, a business council, and a "Made in Uzbekistan" exhibition — giving the presidential audience a substantive economic foundation to build on.
