Uzbekistan showcases tourism potential at shanghai event

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan is participating as an honorary guest at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, according to the Dunyo News Agency.

The China International Import Expo (CIIE), held under the theme “New Era, Shared Future,” has been hosted annually from November 5 to 10 in Shanghai since 2018. The event takes place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) — the world’s largest exhibition complex.

This year’s expo has attracted about 3,500 participants from 129 countries, along with representatives from over 500 of the world’s leading industrial companies. More than 400 products, advanced technology tools, and new service types are on display at the event.

During the expo, presentations highlighted the extensive reforms underway in Uzbekistan, as well as the country’s economic and investment potential. The appeal of Uzbekistan’s regions for trade and tourism was showcased, along with the favorable conditions offered to foreign investors.

Uzbekistan’s national pavilion, titled “Made in Uzbekistan,” features a broad range of products, including industrial goods, geological materials, electronics, construction materials, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, tourism information, IT products, light industry items, agricultural products, and more.

CIIE is China’s largest import-focused exhibition, aiming to support global trade growth and serve as an effective platform for attracting Chinese importers to foreign products and services. The event includes national pavilions and areas for corporate and business showcases.

In an interview with Dunyo, several exhibitors shared their impressions:

Anton Wang, General Manager of Shanghai Ruston Industrial, said: “We are very pleased to visit the Uzbekistan pavilion and participate in the International Import Expo. The Uzbekistan pavilion is beautifully designed with national elements, and the displayed products are diverse, attracting many Chinese visitors. Relations between China and Uzbekistan have been strong for years, and trade relations are rapidly developing. Uzbekistan is gaining popularity in China, with growing interest among Chinese people. I am confident this expo will further strengthen the ties between our two countries.”

Fathullo Khakhramonov, Director of Aziya Immunopreparat, shared: “Our pharmaceutical company is taking part in the 7th International Import Expo in Shanghai. We brought high-quality pharmaceutical products from Uzbekistan. Last year, we signed an agreement with a major Chinese medical goods company, and today we are working together to expand our product range.”

The CIIE presents a valuable opportunity for Uzbekistan to deepen ties with China and increase its presence in the Chinese market.
