Uzbekistan sets order on burial of persons, who died abroad
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan set order on burial of persons in the territory of the country, who died abroad.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior Affairs, Ministry of Healthcare, Ministry of Justice, National Security Services and State Customs Committee adopted a joint resolution, which approved order on order of assisting in burial in the territory of Uzbekistan of person, who died in foreign countries.

The document sets order of delivery body of person (citizen of Uzbekistan, persons without citizenship and in foreign citizens in separate cases), who died abroad, to Uzbekistan and organization of their burial in the territory of the country.

The document said that Uzbekistan guarantees execution will of died person on burial his body or remains in territory of Uzbekistan in case of his/her death in foreign country.

In particular, the government will assist person, who undertook obligation to bury deceased person and pay burial expenses, as well as to receive certificate about death, permission for transportation of body (remains) of deceased person, as well as travel document, including documents for crossing borders.

Diplomatic missions and consular establishments of Uzbekistan abroad, state bodies in places and legal entities, who render similar services, will render necessary service and assistance.

In case of death of citizen of Uzbekistan or person without citizenship, who possessed travel document of Uzbekistan, abroad, consular establishment, in territory of which person died, should register death of person.

The document added that registration of documents on death of person is carried out without consular or other fees. Expenses related to travel of employee of consular establishment are covered due to budget resources.

Expenses, related to preparation to transportation and deliver of bodies (remains) of deceased person, covered due to resources of relatives and friends of deceased person, as well as voluntary donations of Diaspora and other persons in foreign countries. In some cases, it is allowed to transfer funds of relatives and friends to accounts of consular establishments.

In case of death of the citizen of Uzbekistan abroad during his/her business travel, transportation expenses of body or remains will be carried out due to resources of his employer.

In some cases, heads of consular establishment can request Uzbekistan Havo Yollari to transport body or remains of person for free or on preferential prices.

Application on death of citizen can be submitted by their relatives or other persons. The application should be submitted on day of death or within three days from death day or discovery of body. At the same time, later submission of application cannot serve as foundation for refusal for registration of death or rendering assistance to gathering documents for delivery of body or remains to territory of Uzbekistan for burial.

Information about death of citizen can be received from administration of medical establishment or other competent body of foreign country.

After receiving information of death of citizen, consul should take timely measures on determining personality of deceased person and submit them to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
