Uzbekistan raises transit duty rates for vehicles heading to Tajikistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan increased the rates of the additional duty for entry and transit, which is collected to each foreign vehicle, crossing the state border of Uzbekistan with Tajikistan, from 1 July 2011.

In line with the governmental resolution, duty rate for trucks and buses from other foreign states, heading to Tajikistan via Uzbekistan, increased from US$230 to US$265.

The duty rate for trucks and buses from Tajikistan grew from US$103 to US$118, the governmental resolution said.

At the same time, Uzbekistan did not changed duty rates for vehicles of Turkmenistan, heading to Tajikistan. Duty rate for trucks from Turkmenistan with load capacity of up to 10 tonnes is US$35 and trucks with load capacity 10 tonnes and higher – US$55. For buses with less than 12 seats, the duty rate makes up US$35 and those with 12 seats and more grew – US$55.
