Uzbekistan plans to receive 10 trillion soums from the privatization of state assets

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to receive 10 trillion soums as income from the privatization of state assets in 2023. This is stated in the Citizens’ Budget for 2023.

The publication was published by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan. Growth in proceeds from privatization will increase by 66.6%.

It should be noted that in 2022 Uzbekistan planned to receive 6 trillion soums from privatization.

In 2023, consolidated budget revenues are expected at 310.67 trillion soums, and expenditures at 343.21 trillion soums. The budget deficit will amount to 32.5 trillion soums, or 3% of GDP.

The funds received from the privatization of state property are planned to be used to cover part of the deficit.

At the same time, Uzbekistan must pay 19.2 trillion soums of debt in 2023. As a result, Uzbekistan needs to find funds in the amount of 52.1 trillion soums.

The government plans to cover the deficit from external and internal sources. In particular, Uzbekistan plans to attract 17.3 trillion soums by issuing Eurobonds and attracting loans from international financial institutions. The Government also intends to attract loans for the implementation of state programs in the amount of 7.8 trillion soums.

On the domestic market, the Government plans to issue government treasury bonds in the amount of 17 trillion soums and will receive 10 trillion soums from privatization of state assets.
