Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, Uzbekistan will launch a nationwide movement called "One Million Green Families," aimed at promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle among citizens.

This initiative is part of the presidential decree for the implementation of the state program in 2025.

The main goal of the movement is to improve public health, foster environmental culture, and create conditions for the development of human potential by actively involving citizens in ecological initiatives.

Key principles of the movement will include promoting daily walking (at least 10,000 steps) and running, supporting the use of "green transportation," including bicycles, reducing plastic consumption, preventing food waste, and promoting the rational use of water, gas, and electricity resources.

As part of the movement’s implementation, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, along with the Ministry of Digital Technologies, plans to create a special platform by June 1, 2025, for awarding the title of "Eco-active Citizen" to those who achieve high environmental results. Such citizens will receive privileges, such as a 10% discount on government services and discounts on consumer loans in state banks.

Additionally, families in which all adult members hold the title of "Eco-active Citizen" will be given the title of "Green Family." These families will be eligible to participate in an annual lottery with prizes, including 14 electric vehicles.

There will also be competitions among neighborhoods, with those where at least half of the residents hold the "Green Family" status being recognized.

The winners of these competitions will receive 500 million soums to build playgrounds, create green parks, and set up waste collection areas.
