Uzbekistan directs US$104.3m investments to infrastructure development in 1H

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan used capital investments for US$104.3 million within the programme “On speeding up development of infrastructure, transport and communication construction in 2011-2015” in the first half of 2011, the publication of the Ministry of Economy and the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

In the six months of 2011, at the objects on construction and reconstruction of automobile roads of general use of international and state importance, including construction of Uzbekistan national highway, works on construction of asphaltic concrete pavement at 156 km is underway and construction at 70 km at A380 Guzar-Nukus-Kungrad-Beinau and 22 km at A373 Tashkent-Osh is completed.

Eight roadside infrastructure and service objects have been constructed and commissioned along the Uzbek national highway in the reporting period.

Uzbekistan rehabilitated 33 km of railway, produced 127 cargo and 5 passenger wagons in the reporting period.
