Uzbekistan commissions 4.824m sq. m. of habitations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan commissioned 4.824 million square meters of habitations in the first half of 2011 in the result of adopted additional measures on developing habitation construction, the publication of the Ministry of Economy and the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The report said that 3.723 million square meters of habitations have been commissioned in rural areas.

Within the programme on developing habitation construction in rural areas, some 2,260 individual houses on standard projects with the total area of 326,200 square meters have been launched.

The country commissioned 1,335.4 km of water networks, including 1,196.7 km in rural areas, the company said.

In the reporting period, Uzbekistan launched 126 new capacities on production of roof slates, cane fiber board, non-metallic materials, etc, which helped to boost construction of houses.

The country also opened 23 new brick production plants with total capacity of 88.2 million units a year and some 16 brick production plants were modernized.
