Uzbekistan boosts tourism cooperation with Chinese investors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan continues to actively expand international cooperation in the tourism sector, with a focus on attracting foreign investment and developing modern hotel infrastructure.

A delegation from Uzbekistan led by the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism, Abdulaziz Akkulov, held talks with the management of China-based Jin Jiang International Group Co., Ltd.

The meeting took place at the company’s headquarters in China and focused on the development of the hotel business, attracting international brands, and expanding investment cooperation in the tourism sector.

Jin Jiang International Group Co., Ltd. is considered one of the world’s largest operators in the hospitality industry. Its portfolio includes well-known international hotel brands such as Radisson, Campanile, Kyriad, Golden Tulip, Vienna Hotels, and Metropolo. The company currently manages more than 17,000 hotels worldwide, holding a significant position in the global hospitality market.

Experts note that cooperation with such major international players opens additional opportunities for Uzbekistan to develop its tourism infrastructure and improve the quality of hotel services in the country.

During the talks, the sides discussed prospects for expanding hotel infrastructure in Tashkent and Samarkand, particularly in the context of business tourism, international forums, and large-scale events. Special attention was paid to attracting Chinese investors and bringing international hotel brands under the Jin Jiang International Group umbrella to the Uzbek market.

The parties also considered prospects for developing hotel infrastructure in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and the Ferghana Valley, which are currently viewed as among the most promising tourist destinations in the country.

Specialists emphasize that the growth of international tourist flows requires accelerated development of a modern hospitality system, especially in the 4- and 5-star hotel segment. According to experts, demand for high-quality hotel services in Uzbekistan continues to grow both from foreign tourists and within the framework of MICE tourism, including international conferences, exhibitions, and business forums.

During the negotiations, the Uzbek side presented information on the high investment potential of the country’s hotel sector, as well as on state support measures aimed at developing tourism and creating favorable conditions for foreign investors.

Special attention was also given to the implementation of modern hotel management systems and international service standards. Analysts note that the integration of global hotel brands not only improves service quality but also contributes to forming a modern international image of the country.

In addition, the development of hotel infrastructure is seen as an important factor in economic diversification, job creation, and increasing the export potential of tourism services.

Experts emphasize that the intensification of cooperation with leading Chinese companies reflects growing international business interest in Uzbekistan’s tourism market. In recent years, the republic has consistently strengthened its position as one of Central Asia’s key tourism hubs, expanding international partnerships and promoting new tourist destinations.

Cooperation with Jin Jiang International Group Co., Ltd. may also contribute to increasing tourist flows from China and other Asian countries, where the company’s hotel brands are widely recognized and have a broad customer base.

In the context of growing global tourism competition, modernization of hotel infrastructure and engagement of international operators have become one of the strategic priorities for the development of Uzbekistan’s tourism industry.
