Uzbekistan and Vietnam sign medical cooperation deal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On May 26, 2026, the University of Health Sciences of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UHS) and the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Folk Medicine of Uzbekistan (RSPCFM) signed an online memorandum of understanding aimed at developing cooperation in the field of traditional and integrated medicine.

The document was signed during an online ceremony and became part of UHS’s strategy to expand international cooperation in traditional medicine, as well as to develop scientific and educational exchanges between the two countries.

The agreement provides for the implementation of joint projects in several areas, including the development of educational and training programs in traditional medicine, such as acupuncture, phytotherapy and non-pharmacological treatment methods.

The sides also agreed to cooperate in research on medicinal plants, ethnopharmacology and clinical traditional medicine, as well as to organize exchanges of professors, specialists and students.

In addition, the memorandum предусматривает the organization of joint scientific conferences and publication activities aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation in healthcare.

Representatives of the university’s leadership and the Department of Traditional Medicine participated in the signing ceremony on behalf of UHS, while Uzbekistan was represented by the management of RSPCFM, specialists from the Ministry of Health, and international medical experts.

RSPCFM, according to the statement, operates under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and is engaged in the research, standardization and integration of traditional medicine methods into the modern healthcare system.
