Uzbekistan and Italy Expand Agricultural Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Italy discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector during international talks held on the sidelines of the 35th FAO Regional Conference for Europe in Tajikistan.
Uzbekistan’s Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov and Italian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Guido De Sanctis exchanged views on the current state of agricultural cooperation and reviewed opportunities for further development.
The discussions focused on strengthening partnership in agricultural education, scientific research, and innovation.
Special attention was given to workforce training programs, including initiatives for educating Uzbek students at Italian universities. Participants noted that such educational projects help improve the qualifications of young specialists and accelerate the introduction of modern agricultural technologies and international practices in Uzbekistan’s farming sector.
The sides also discussed cooperation in developing innovative agricultural solutions, expanding joint scientific research projects, introducing water-saving technologies, and strengthening food security.
Following the talks, both parties expressed mutual interest in further developing cooperation, implementing new joint initiatives, and expanding partnership in the agricultural sector.
