Uzbekistan, ACWA Power Review New Investment Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting between representatives of Uzbekistan and senior officials of Saudi investment companies ACWA Power and Vision Invest was held in Samarkand on the sidelines of the 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank.
The talks were attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov and ACWA Power Chairman Muhammad Abunayyan.
The meeting also brought together Vision Invest President and CEO Omar Al Midani, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhomjon Umrzakov, and other representatives from both sides. The discussions focused on further developing mutually beneficial cooperation and expanding the portfolio of joint projects.
The parties reviewed the progress and results of ongoing initiatives and explored opportunities to scale up collaboration into new areas. Special emphasis was placed on public-private partnership (PPP) projects.
Priority areas identified included the construction of a multidisciplinary hospital in Ferghana, development of transport infrastructure including the implementation of the New Tashkent International Airport project, and expansion of projects in the green energy sector.
Participants also exchanged views on Uzbekistan’s macroeconomic development, digital transformation, and new initiatives in information technology and communications.
At the conclusion of the talks, the sides confirmed their intention to continue strengthening cooperation and expanding large-scale joint investment projects across key sectors of the economy.
