The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Brussels, Belgium, hosted a briefing dedicated to tourism potential of Uzbekistan. The briefing presented information on development of tourism in Uzbekistan during independence years.

The participants received detailed information about historic and architectural monuments of Uzbekistan, popular tourism routes in the country, as well as activity of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways).

The video footage "Welcome to Uzbekistan" on the tourist potential of Uzbekistan provided the participants opportunity to see and appreciate the beauty of the cities and ancients monuments of the country.

"Uzbekistan belongs to the group of countries, which are more actively reaching out to the world and European tourist markets with their unique tourist products," Bea Suis, Director of Belgian tourist company Vitamin Travel, said, "such cities as Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, which are nearly 3,000 years old, particularly attract the tourists from Europe".

"Our company has been representing the tourist routes in Uzbekistan for more than ten years now," Ben Maasman, the head of the Dutch tourist company, said. "I have been to Uzbekistan several times, where I always have a heartfelt welcome by the magnanimous and hospitable Uzbek people," he added.

According to him, the interest of the Dutch tourists in Uzbekistan has been o­n the rise year to year. They are now traveling to Uzbekistan in scores. At the same, the measures now taken in Uzbekistan in promoting the sphere are positively affecting such trend.
