Uzbek, Russian officials discuss bilateral ties, intl issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenov held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on 10 October 2011.

The ministry said that the sides exchanged opinion on some issues of the Uzbek-Russian relations, as well as regional and international problems.

According to the State Statistics Committee, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia made up US$3.144 billion in January-June 2011, which grew by 22.3% year-on-year.

The volume of Uzbekistan’s exports to Russia made up US$2.117 billion in January-June 2011 against US$1.705 billion in the same period of 2010. Imports of Uzbekistan from Russia grew from US$866.2 million in January-June 2010 to US$1.028 billion in the same period of 2011.
