UNDP develops practical manuals on transfer and commercialization of technologies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan (UNDP) within the framework of “Support to Innovation Policy and Technology Transfer” project (SIPTT Project) and in partnership with Technology Transfer Agency under the Ministry of Economy has elaborated a series of practical manuals on transfer and commercialization of technologies.

For the past several years the Government of Uzbekistan has been paying increasing attention to the acceleration of innovation activity as a main engine for sustainable economic development. Innovation activity requires close interaction between various parties including the state, research institutions, private sector, users and financial institutions.

Evidence shows that issues of transfer and commercialization of technologies still remain to be studied well by the parties. In order to raise the awareness and provide practical recommendations on various aspects of commercialization and transfer of technologies, the UNDP project is rendering assistance in conducting trainings and elaboration of practical manuals and other training materials.

Currently the project’s consultants have elaborated 9 practical manuals on such subjects as the foundations of innovation activity, legal protection, management of intellectual property, organization of activity of centers for technology transfer, technology audit and conducting examination, marketing and business planning of innovation projects. The manual on management of intellectual property (IP), in particular, discloses features of intangible assets, key understandings of license agreement, description of threats to IP security, and provides recommendation on complex protection of IP. A number of these practical manuals have been presented to the participants of IV Fair of Innovation Ideas, Technologies, and Projects that was conducted on 13-15 April this year.

UNDP project is also elaborating additional practical manuals on innovation entrepreneurship, analysis of innovation activity of enterprises, financing innovation projects, principles and methods of valuation of intangible assets and objects of IP, legal mechanisms of transferring technologies, regional development of innovation activity, as well as glossary of terms and definitions on innovation activity and technology transfer.
