UEC Presents Gas Turbines for Uzbekistan Energy Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — United Engine Corporation (UEC), part of Russia’s Rostec State Corporation, has presented its serial gas pumping unit UGPА-16(25) along with industrial gas turbines NK-14ST and AL-31ST at the international industrial exhibition Innoprom Central Asia. The equipment is intended for use in the construction of new facilities and the modernization of Uzbekistan’s gas transmission infrastructure.
The unified UGPА-16(25) unit, developed and supplied by UEC Engineering, a subsidiary of United Engine Corporation, is designed to operate with different gas turbine engines ranging from 12 to 32 megawatts without major structural modifications. This flexibility is achieved through the standardization of key components.
The unit’s modular design, consisting of eight pre-assembled blocks, significantly reduces installation time and commissioning periods for compressor stations. Similar solutions are already in use on major gas pipelines in Russia.
According to Andrey Vorobyov, CEO of UEC Engineering, the UGPА series represents a serial solution for gas infrastructure development projects. He noted the expansion of the power range within the product line and ongoing deliveries to customers, as well as plans for further production development.
To increase the throughput capacity of Uzbekistan’s gas transmission system, the company proposes the use of UGPА units equipped with the AL-31ST engine produced by UEC-UMPO. The engine is already in operation at compressor stations and is noted for its stable performance across a wide range of climatic conditions, including high temperatures.
UEC also presented the upgraded NK-14ST gas turbine engine with a capacity of 8.5 MW, developed by UEC-Kuznetsov. It is an improved version of the NK-12ST engine, which is already used in Uzbekistan’s gas transport system. The new engine is designed to enhance compressor station capacity and increase gas transportation volumes.
Supply, maintenance, and repair services for the equipment are provided by UEC Engineering.
Models of the presented equipment are displayed at the Rostec State Corporation joint exhibition stand at Innoprom Central Asia, held in Tashkent from April 20 to 22, 2026, under the organization of relevant ministries of Russia and Uzbekistan.
