At the same time, the balance of credit investments of these organizations exceeded 178.4 billion soums. The total capital of non-banking credit organizations reached 153.4 billion soums.
The Central Bank recalled that on 12 September 2017, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures for further development and enhancing the stability of the banking system of the republic”.
The document set new level of minimum level of the authorized capital for newly created microcredit organizations and pawnshops from 1 October 2017.
From 1 October 2017, newly created microcredit organizations should have charter capital of 2 billion soums and pawnshops - 500 million soums. Existing microcredit organizations and pawnshops should increase their charter capital to set minimal requirements by 1 January 2019.
Currently, there are 76 non-banking microcredit organizations operating in the regions of Uzbekistan, of which 30 are microcredit organizations and 46 - pawnshops.
