Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 September, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, academician Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov met with the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan Rahim Hamro Saidzoda. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The parties discussed issues of preparation for the international conference “Strengthening the development of higher education through the development of regional cooperation in Central Asia,” which will be held in Tashkent on 21 September.

Rahim Hamro Saidzade noted that the first Uzbek-Tajik forum of rectors, held in Tajikistan, made a great contribution to the development of cooperation between higher educational institutions of the two countries. The parties agreed to hold the second Uzbek-Tajik forum of rectors in Uzbekistan next year.

Speaking about the integration of higher education and science, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov emphasized the need to begin work on organizing joint competitions of scientific projects. He also invited scientific and higher educational institutions of Tajikistan to the week of innovative ideas “InnoWeek.uz”, which is planned to be held in October this year.
