Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tashkent has been officially confirmed as the host city for the 2027 World Para Athletics Championships for adults. The decision marks the first time Uzbekistan and Central Asia will host one of the largest international para-sport tournaments.

The competition is scheduled to take place in June 2027 at the “Olympia” stadium located in the capital’s Olympic City. The “Tashkent 2027” tournament will be the 13th edition of the World Para Athletics Championships.

In the Asian region, the world championships will be held for the fifth time. Previous host cities include Doha in 2015, Dubai in 2019, Kobe in 2024, and New Delhi in 2025.

Preliminary estimates suggest participation from more than 100 countries and around 1,300 athletes. This would make the upcoming event the largest international para-sport competition ever held in Central Asia.

The competition program will be organized in accordance with Paralympic Games standards and disciplines.
