Tashkent Region, Fruitimprese Discuss Agro-Exports in Rome

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Tashkent region, led by regional governor Zoyir Mirzaev, held a series of meetings and negotiations during a visit to Rome aimed at expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Fruitimprese association and representatives of member companies. The delegation was received by the association’s head, Marco Salvi.

Fruitimprese is one of Italy’s largest associations in the fruit and vegetable import and export sector, bringing together more than 300 agribusiness companies.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy, including exports of fruit and vegetable products, development of agro-logistics, processing industries, and investment cooperation.

Representatives of Tashkent region presented information on agricultural reforms, the development of agro-clusters, and the expansion of export-oriented production.

Special attention was given to the introduction of modern storage, sorting, and packaging systems, as well as compliance with sanitary and certification requirements of European Union markets.

The Italian side expressed interest in Uzbekistan’s agricultural potential and opportunities for developing joint projects.

Following the meeting, the parties noted the strong potential for further development of partnerships between the business communities of the two countries.
