According to Uzbekenergo state joint stock company, Tashkent Heating Energy Main received a first party of high-technologic Japanese equipment – spare parts to gas turbine and generator.

The project is realized in line with the presidential resolution from 4 February 2011 and it is included to programme of priorities of industrial development of Uzbekistan for 2011-2015.

Uzbekenergo said that the project was proposed by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) of Japan.

Proposed technologies are new for energy sector of Uzbekistan and it is model project, demonstrating advantages of highly effective cogeneration gas turbine facility on production of heat and electricity.

The project envisages installation of gas turbine facility of Hitachi production with generation capacity of 27 megawatt and steam-boiler-utilizer with the capacity of 47 tonnes per hour.

The project implementation will increase electricity production at the station from 130 million to 300 million K.W.H. and ensure reliable electricity supply to Tashkent Airport, heating energy supply of Tashkent’s central part, as well as Wagon Repair Plant.

Introduction of new technology will allow to save 65 million cubic meters of natural gas year and cut heat expenses for own needs of the station. Saving of natural gas will allow to cut CO2 emission to atmosphere by 65,000 tonnes a year.

The project is implemented due to own resources of Uzbekenergo and resources of NEDO. The Japanese side will supply main equipment: gas turbine, generator of gas turbine and steam-boiler-utilizer.

Within the project, the Japanese company Tohoku Electric Power is rendering consulting services on designing and construction-assembly works.
