State Demonopolization Committee protects interests of GM Aksakal Invest
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Committee of Uzbekistan on Demonopolization and Development of Competition considered five applications of businesses entities on illegal use f intellectual property, which leads to creation of unfair competition.

In particular, the committee considered application of GM Aksakal Invest LLC on illegal use of patented trademark Pemos and combined trademark of washing powder Pemos and Pemos-Avtoritet.

The investigation showed that several supermarkets have been realizing washing powder with the trademark Pemos, which is produced by Henkel in Minsk, Belarus.

In line with the legislation of Uzbekistan, which envisages seizure of goods from illegal use of trademark, supermarkets Tanho-Mega Plus LLC and Geomaks Plyus LLC were warned about liability for non-observance of the legislation.

In line with the received information, these supermarkets adopted measures on abolishing sales of washing powder Pemos and Pemos-Avtoritet.

During inspection of applications of Sharf Uniprom and Runa international trading, inc., the facts on illegal use of intellectual properties have not been approved due to inexistence of registration of trademark and end of patent term for industrial standard.

The committee opened cases against two business entities in connection with violation of anti-monopoly legislation. But, the investigation on unfair competition at production of margarine under trademark “Shedroye Leto” in connection with existence of patented trademark “Shedroye Solntse” showed that the State Patent Agency issued patent for combine trademark “Shedroye Leto” and this resulted in abolishment of the case on anti-monopoly legislation.

Application of Framstandart-Leksrestva (Russia), which is owner of trademark Arbidol, has been postponed till consideration of legality of registration of main substances of medicaments as trademarks by the State Patent Agency.
