Spain to Expand Textile Cooperation With Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Spain plans to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan in the textile sector following discussions held during a visit by Tashkent region governor Zoir Mirzaev to Spain.
The talks focused on the development of the textile industry in Tashkent region and the expansion of export opportunities in European markets.
During the negotiations, participants discussed prospects for cooperation with Spanish promotion and consulting company representative Aleksandro Pastrana. The main focus was on promoting textile products from Tashkent region abroad and strengthening business ties with European partners.
Heads of major textile enterprises in the region also took part in the meeting via Zoom, allowing them to present the production and export potential of the sector in a direct dialogue format.
The sides reviewed opportunities for entering European markets, establishing direct contacts with investors and entrepreneurs from Spain, and expanding supplies of both raw materials and finished textile products.
Special attention was given to improving compliance with international standards, introducing modern production technologies, and developing design and branding capabilities aligned with European consumer requirements.
The Spanish side expressed interest in the activities of textile clusters in Tashkent region, product quality, and export potential. Initiatives were also proposed for joint projects and business meetings involving European companies.
Both sides agreed to continue practical work to develop long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation in the textile industry.
