Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- “The Botanical Garden is our history, which we are proud of. For more than 70 years, talented scientists have grown valuable trees and plants in the garden and devoted their love and care to them. There is no other place like this in our country,” said Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva.
“We are obliged to protect this natural area, preserve it and pass it on to our children. I am categorically against the transfer of the Botanical Garden to the management of commercial structures. Not a centimeter of its area should be given to tenants or developers,” she said.
“The garden was created by scientists and should belong to scientists for the benefit of all Uzbek citizens. It will remain under the jurisdiction of the Academy of Sciences,” she emphasized.
