Russian surgeon examines children with heart problems
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A week of children cardiosurgery has been held at Tashkent’s Medical-Rehabilitation Complex Salus Vita on 5-9 September 2011. Russian cardio surgeon Victor Dovgan examined over 99 children with congenital heart diseases and 15 children, operated earlier in Saint Petersburg hospital.

After the examination, eleven children were selected for free treatment in Saint Petersburg. The charity campaign was held within the project “Health in Family”, organized by Fund Forum, National Public Union “Jenskoye Sobraniye” and Ministry of Healthcare of Uzbekistan.

Fund Forum said that the Uzbek medical employees participated in a roundtable on diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart diseases on the first day of campaign, 5 September 2011.

In Tashkent, Victor Dovgan examined children at Salus Vita and visited the Institute of Pectoral Surgery, Children City Hospital No. 5 and cardiology department of Tashkent Pediatric Institute, where he familiarized with quality of medical services to children with congenital heart diseases.

Victor Dovgan examined each child within 20 minutes and gave his recommendations on treatment and rehabilitation of organism.

Russian specialist said that he participates for the first time in such project and he is happy to visit Uzbekistan. Victor Dovgan said that Uzbekistan has high cardiology level. He said that the organization of the project was in good level and large number of patients was examined. “I hope that this project is only start of our cooperation and it will become traditional in future,” he said.

The main aim of the week was to examine children and consult parents, as well as set correct diagnosis to patients. The project was also directed at selecting 11 children, who will get free treatment in Saint Petersburg.
