Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- When a card is detained, in most cases, ATMs issue a check containing the necessary information.

“Do not throw it away, it may come in handy when applying for a return. If the ATM did not give you such a check, it’s okay - the absence of a check is not a reason for refusing to return the card,” the statement said.

The main reasons for the detention of a bank card:

- if the PIN-code is entered incorrectly three times in a row;

- the bank card is expired (expired) or blocked;

- the bank card has mechanical damage (the chip is damaged);

- untimely withdrawal of a bank card from an ATM after the completion of the transaction;

- malfunction of the ATM.

Procedure in these cases:

Try to cancel the operation

Click the "Cancel" button, wait a few minutes - during this time the device can "recover technical problems". If the ATM did not return the card, proceed depending on where the ATM is located.

Call the bank serving the ATM

On the device itself there is information regarding the name of the bank and a contact phone number, which will explain what to do next. If the ATM is located in the bank building, contact the staff.

Inform by phone about the non-return of a bank card, name the card details, and also, if necessary, answer questions. A bank employee will tell you where and with what documents you need to apply to return a bank card.

The servicing bank, having studied the situation, will inform about the reasons, return the bank card within one day or, in case of damage / expiration of the card, will issue a new card in exchange for the previous one, which has expired.
