President Mirziyoyev Congratulates the People of Uzbekistan on Eid al-Adha
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the people of the country on 26 May on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
The Head of State described Eid al-Adha as a celebration of peace, kindness, and generosity, reflecting the essence of the sacred religion and its noble values. He noted that these principles are closely aligned with the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the interests of people.
The President emphasized that the traditions of Eid al-Adha strengthen social harmony, friendship, and mutual support among citizens, as well as efforts to assist the elderly, women, youth, and those in need, while also contributing to the improvement of mahallas across the country.
Mirziyoyev highlighted ongoing efforts to study and promote the country’s ancient history, cultural heritage, and the humanitarian essence of Islam. He pointed to recently established institutions such as the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, the Imam Bukhari memorial complex in Samarkand, and the Burhaniddin Margilani scientific and educational complex in Margilan as important achievements of New Uzbekistan.
According to the President, these developments further inspire progress in building a modern and inclusive society.
He noted that thanks to improved conditions for religious freedom, more than 15,000 citizens are currently performing the Hajj pilgrimage. For the first time, the “Presidential Hajj” program has been launched, under which 100 citizens — including scholars, elders, mahalla leaders, and family members who have contributed to society — have been granted the opportunity to perform Hajj.
The President extended his congratulations to all pilgrims and prayed for the acceptance of their prayers, expressing hope that upon returning, they will actively contribute to spiritual and educational work in their communities.
He also congratulated Muslims around the world, wishing them peace, prosperity, and well-being, and expressed gratitude to those working during the holiday and serving in the country’s defense and security structures.
Mirziyoyev concluded by expressing gratitude for peace and stability in the country and wished continued protection and prosperity for the nation.
