Uzbekistan and Spain discuss prospects for cooperation in innovative areas of the economy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan Farrukh Tursunov visited the Airbus Defense and Space site in the city of Getafe, Autonomous Community of Madrid, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the meeting with Jorge Domec, Director of Institutional Relations and Strategy Advisor for Airbus Defense and Space, the main topic was a discussion of the prospects for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Airbus in the scientific, technical and innovation fields.

The possibilities of using advanced Airbus technologies in various sectors of Uzbekistan were discussed. Particular attention was paid to modernizing the country’s economy with the help of modern aviation and space solutions from Airbus.

It was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Airbus Defense and Space opens up significant prospects for the development of space technologies not only in Uzbekistan, but also in the Central Asian region as a whole.

The possibilities of cooperation with the Physics and Technology Institute NPO Physics-Sun on issues of climate change and environmental protection were also discussed. Airbus Defense and Space provides advanced solutions for collecting and analyzing solar activity data and its impact on climate conditions.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in developing a long-term partnership aimed at increasing the scientific and technological potential of Uzbekistan.

Airbus Defense and Space is a division of the largest European aerospace industry corporation Airbus SE, responsible for the development and production of defense and space products. It is the second largest space company in the world. There are eight Airbus Defense and Space sites in Spain, and the Getafe site is the third largest and home to the national headquarters.
