Ministry of Energy: a number of areas of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed with SOCAR delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 July 2022, negotiations were held at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a delegation from SOCAR (Azerbaijan).

During the meeting with representatives of the company, a number of areas of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed.

The parties, in particular, actively cooperate in the field of experience exchange and personnel training.

Thus, in September 2021, during a working trip to Azerbaijan, specialists from Uzbekneftegaz JSC studied the resource management system with the phased introduction of software modules, a dispatch control system, solutions in the field of work automation, monitoring and control of production processes in SOCAR.

At present, a visit of SOCAR specialists to the gas chemical complexes of Uzbekneftegaz JSC is being worked out in order to organize training in the field of advanced processing of hydrocarbons.

During the meeting, SOCAR representatives announced their readiness to accept 10 specialists of Uzbekneftegaz JSC for advanced training at SOCAR facilities and provide scholarships for 2 employees to study at the master’s program at the SOCAR Higher School.

The parties also noted the potential for joint exploration and production of hydrocarbons in Azerbaijan. Research is underway in this direction.

During the discussion, an agreement was reached to intensify work on opening a trading house in Dubai, which will allow both parties to more actively enter new markets.

It was also decided to establish an exchange of experience with SOCAR in the field of preparation and implementation of large projects for the generation of renewable energy on the basis of PPP, as well as holding relevant tenders.
