Over 78,000 industrial enterprises operate in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Nowadays, 78.0 thousand industrial enterprises operate in Uzbekistan, of which 12.3 thousand (15.7% of the total number of operating enterprises) fall on the city of Tashkent, 8.1 thousand (10.4%) - Ferghana, 7.6 thousand (9.8%) - Tashkent, 7.6 thousand (9.8%) - Andijan and 6.9 thousand (8.8%) - Samarkand regions, the Statistics Agency said.

According to preliminary data, in January-February 2023, enterprises of the republic produced industrial products worth 72.8 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the same period in 2022 amounted to 96.1%.

The index of the physical volume of industrial production is a relative indicator that characterizes the change in the mass of manufactured products (works, services) in the periods being compared.

An analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita for January-February 2023 showed a significant excess of the national average (2.04 million soums) in Navoi region (12.56 million soums), Tashkent city (4.4 million soums) and Tashkent region (4.06 million soums).

In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (78.0%), the volume of production of which amounted to 56.8 trillion soums.

In January-February 2023, the largest share in the total volume of industrial production in the republic was Navoi (18.0%) region, the city of Tashkent (17.6%), as well as Tashkent (16.6%), Andijan (6.8%) and Ferghana (4.9%) regions.

The mining industry is a set of industries engaged in the exploration and extraction of minerals, as well as their primary processing and the production of semi-finished products. The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-February 2023 amounted to 8.5 trillion soums, or 11.7% of the total industry.

Manufacturing industry - this section includes the physical or chemical processing of materials, substances or components to produce new products, although the data cannot be used as the only universal criterion for a particular type of production. In January-February 2023, manufacturing enterprises produced goods worth 56.8 trillion soums, or 78.0% of the total industry

In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries was 2.7% (2.8% in January-February 2022), medium-tech - 19.3% (21.1%), medium-low-tech - 35.9% (37.9%) and low-tech - 42.1% (38.1%).

In the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, installation of machinery and equipment, production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, and other finished metal products amounted to 17.5% (the index of physical volume by January–February 2022 was 98.5%), the metallurgical industry - 26.8% (the index of physical volume by January-February 2022 in 2022, it amounted to 100.9%), enterprises producing textiles, clothing, leather products – 20.8% (the index of physical volume by January-February 2022 was 93.9%)

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production of food, beverages and tobacco products amounted to 18.7% (the index of physical volume by January-February 2022 was 99.2%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 7.4% (volume index by January-February 2022 amounted to 73.5%).

In January-February 2023, 263.9 thousand tons of motor gasoline were produced in the republic (in comparison with the corresponding period of 2022, an increase of 33.5%), 71.3 thousand tons of cotton yarn (a decrease of 23.3%), 16.2 million liters of beer (a decrease of 12.2%) and 245.5 thousand tons of flour from soft wheat and spelled (a decrease of 16.9%).

A truck is a vehicle designed for the carriage of goods in a body or on a cargo platform. In January-February 2023, large enterprises of the republic produced 350 trucks (by the corresponding period in 2022, the volume of production decreased by 23.6%).

Bus - a trackless mechanical motor vehicle, technically designed to carry 9 or more passengers and capable of maneuvering on the road. In January-February 2023, large enterprises of the republic produced 114 buses (by the corresponding period in 2022, the volume of production increased by 1.7 times).

Passenger car - a car designed to carry passengers and luggage with a capacity of 2 to 8 people. In the automotive industry of the country, in January-February 2023, 7 673 Cobalt cars were produced (growth rates decreased by 28.9% compared to the same period in 2022), 467 – “Nexia” (decrease by 83.9%), 5 174 - "Gentra" (decrease by 58.1%), 3 755 specialized cars (growth by 0.9%), 9 436 - "Damas" (growth rate increased by 1.6%), and 1 087 - "Tracker" and 112 - "Onyx".

Tractors are a self-propelled (tracked or wheeled) machine that performs agricultural, road construction, earthmoving, transport and other work in an aggregate with trailed, mounted or stationary machines. In January-February 2023, large enterprises of the republic produced 7 tractors (by January-December 2022, the volume of production increased by 40.0%).

An automobile engine is an engine that converts any energy into mechanical energy necessary to set the car in motion. In January-February 2023, large enterprises of the republic produced 21.4 thousand units of car engines (a decrease of 34.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2022).

A battery is a reusable current source designed to accumulate and store energy. In January-February 2023, large enterprises in the engineering industry produced 190.8 thousand pieces of lead batteries to start piston engines (a 1.7-fold increase in production was recorded against the corresponding period in 2022).

A refrigerator is a device that maintains a low temperature in a heat-insulated chamber. Freezer - a separate device or component of the refrigerator, designed for freezing and storage. In January-February 2023, large enterprises of the republic produced 65.2 thousand refrigerators and freezers (by the corresponding period of 2022, an increase in production by 6.3% was recorded).

The overhaul of technological equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceed the production figures of the previous year for the production of disodium carbonate (101.8% by January-February 2022) and potassium chloride (104.0%).

The metallurgical industry is a branch of heavy industry that includes the processes of making metals from ores or other materials, as well as metal alloys. In January-February 2023, the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 26.8%, the physical volume index increased by 0.9%, while the volume of production amounted to 15 213.4 billion soums.

Other non-metallic mineral products include production types of mineralbased products. According to the results of January-February 2023, the share of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 3.4%, the index of physical volume of production decreased by 25.4%, and the volume of production amounted to 1 956.7 billion soums.

Food production includes the processing of agricultural and forestry products, fishery products for food production, prepared animal feed, and the production of non-food convenience foods. In January-February 2023, the share of food products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 15.4%, the physical volume index - 98.2%, and the total production volume – 8 730.7 billion soums.

Beverage production - includes the production of soft drinks and mineral waters, fermented alcoholic beverages, beer and wine, as well as the production of distilled alcoholic beverages. In January-February 2023, the share of beverage production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 2.6%, the physical volume index - 96.3%, and the volume of production reached 1 493.6 billion soums.

The manufacture of textiles includes the preparation and spinning of textile fibrous, textile woven and finished textile products, the finishing of textiles and clothing, and the production of finished textile products, excluding clothing. According to the results of January-February 2023, the share of textile production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 16.3%, the physical volume index decreased by 9.3%, and the volume of production became 9 293.4 billion soums.

Clothing production includes garments in all materials, as well as all types of clothing and accessories. In January-February 2023, the share of clothing production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 4.0%, and the physical volume index - 102.9%, the volume of production reached 2 291.6 billion soums.

Production of chemical products - this includes the processing of organic and inorganic raw materials, materials through chemical processes and the production of finished products. In January-February 2023, the share of chemical products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 6.3%, the index of physical volume of production decreased by 31.2%, and the volume of production amounted to 3 588.2 billion soums.

The production of coke and refined petroleum products is the processing of crude oil and coal into products ready for use. The main activity is oil refining, which consists of separating crude oil into components by cracking and distillation. According to the results of January-February 2023, the share of production of coke and refined petroleum products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 2.1%, the physical volume index increased by 2.1%, and the volume of production amounted to 1 217.7 billion soums.

The manufacture of rubber and plastic products includes the production of rubber and plastic products. However, this does not mean that all types of production and materials are included. In January-February 2023, the share of production of rubber and plastic products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 1.1%, the index of physical volume - 97.3%, the volume of production - 638.0 billion soums.

Manufacture of electrical equipment - this includes the manufacture of products that generate and distribute the use of electrical energy. Also included is the production of electrical lighting, signaling equipment and household appliances. In January-February 2023, the share of electrical equipment production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 3.1%, the index of physical volume of production - 141.2%, and the volume of production – 1 786.5 billion soums.

Manufacture of finished metal products, except for machinery and equipment - this includes the production of products from "pure metals - without impurities", usually stationary, in particular such as radio devices, transmitting devices, which include the production of alloys of these metals and more complex compounds exclusively for electrical, electronic or optical devices. In January-February 2023, the share of production of finished metal products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 2.1%, the physical volume index - 90.8%, and the volume of production – 1 197.4 billion soums.

The manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers includes the manufacture of motor vehicles for the transport of passengers or goods, as well as the manufacture of trailers and semi-trailers. In January-February 2023, the share of motor vehicle production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 8.7%, the physical volume index - 78.1%, the production volume reached 4 926.9 billion soums.

Electricity supply, gas supply, steam supply and air conditioning include activities related to the supply of electricity, natural gas, steam, hot water supply through permanent networks - cables, pipes and water pipes. The volume of products produced by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning enterprises in the period under review amounted to 7.1 trillion soums (9.8% of the total industry)

Water supply, sewerage, collection and disposal of waste includes the processing (collection, processing and destruction) of various types of waste, solid and liquid, industrial and domestic, as well as contaminated. The volume of products produced by water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal enterprises in January-February 2023 amounted to 0.4 trillion soums (0.5% of the total industry).

Compared to the corresponding period of 2022, in January- February 2023, there was a decrease in the production of textile waste by 55.3%, services for emptying, cleaning and treatment of cesspools, septic tanks and septic tanks - by 27.3%, as well as services for the disposal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment - by 1.0%.

As a result of the measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, the production of consumer goods in January-February 2023 amounted to 19.2 trillion soums and, compared with the corresponding period of 2022, the growth rate reached 96.2%, the share in the total volume of industry amounted to 26.4%

In January-February 2023, food products worth 8.7 trillion soums were produced in the republic, the growth rate increased by 7.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Compared to the same period in 2022, the indicators of the average republican production of consumer goods were exceeded by the enterprises of Namangan (113.4%) region, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (112.8%) and Tashkent (108.9%) region.

In the structure of production of consumer goods, the share of food products was 45.2%, non-food - 54.8%. In January-February 2022, the share of food products in the total volume of consumer goods amounted to 35.8%, non-food - 64.2%. At the same time, the growth rate of food products by the corresponding period of 2022 amounted to 107.3%, non-food products - 88.6%.

Consumer goods are industrial products used primarily for personal consumption or for other non-profit purposes. In the structure of consumer goods production of the republic in January-February 2023, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (17.7% of the total volume of consumer goods), Andijan (16.9%), Tashkent (15.5%) and Samarkand (9.7%) regions.

The production of consumer goods per capita in January-February 2023 in the republic amounted to 538.7 thousand soums, including in the city of Tashkent – 1 168.1 thousand soums, Tashkent region – 1 000.6 thousand soums, Andijan region – 989.1 thousand soums, Khorezm region – 817.4 thousand soums.

In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic in January-February 2023, the largest share falls on Andijan (27.3% of the total volume of non-food products), Tashkent (13.5%) regions, the city of Tashkent (12.8%) and Samarkand (8.8%) region.

In the structure of food production of the republic in January-February 2023, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (23.7% of the total volume of food products), Tashkent (17.8%) and Samarkand (10.9%) regions.

In January-February 2023, small businesses produced products worth 16.7 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production amounted to 22.9%. For the period from January to February 2022, the share of small businesses in total production amounted to 17.8%.
