Number of monopoly enterprises is decreasing in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of monopoly enterprises in Uzbekistan decreased by three units in the first half of 2011 and reached to 180 on 159 products and services, the State Demonopolization Committee said.

The company said that number of monopoly enterprises and products was observed in food, constriction materials, services and other markets.

Among them are Eyvalikmahsustemirbeton (sleepers), Bukhoro Yog’(edible oil), Jizzakh shahar gaz toldirish shahobchasi (sales of liquidized gas to population) and others.

The volume of produced monopoly products and services to GDP made up about 19.2%, which decreased by 1.6% compared to previous year, the committee added.

Share of monopoly products in machinery and metallurgy made up 30%, oil and gas industry – 31%, monopoly services – 16.7%, construction materials – 5.8%, chemical products – 5.3%, foodstuff – 4.9%, coal production and sales – 0.6%, bread products – 0.4%, electrotechnical goods – 0.4% and other goods – 4.9%.
