Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russian authorities are investigating the murder of a young Uzbek citizen in the city of Novosibirsk following an incident that occurred on 28 April 2026, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk said, citing investigative agencies.
According to information provided to the consulate, the child sustained fatal injuries after being beaten by her stepfather.
The girl was urgently taken to a medical facility but later died from her injuries. The suspect was detained on 29 April, and a criminal case was opened under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation relating to murder. A court ordered the suspect to remain in custody pending investigation.

According to the consulate, a forensic medical examination has already been completed by the competent authorities, and permission has been granted to transport the body to Uzbekistan for burial.
Representatives of the diplomatic mission informed the child’s mother about available assistance measures, including coordination with funeral services in Novosibirsk, transportation of the body to Tolmachevo Airport, document processing, and the purchase of airline tickets for her and the child.
The criminal investigation is ongoing. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan said the case remains under special monitoring and urged media outlets to refrain from publishing unverified information.
