Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 September, a meeting of the leaders of national trade union centers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan was held in the city of Samarkand, at which a decision was made to create the Organization of Trade Unions of Turkic States (OTUTS). This was reported by the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by: Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Sattar Mehbaliyev, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan Omor Arslanbekov, Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Union Organizations of Turkey (Turk-Ish) Ergun Atalay and Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan Kudratulla Rafikov.

The draft Charter of the Organization was reviewed, the composition of the Organization's Council was approved, and leadership was elected. Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan Kudratulla Rafikov was elected president of the OPTG, chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Sattar Mehbaliyev was elected vice-president, and chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin was elected general secretary.

Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan Omor Arstanbekov will head the Audit Commission of the Organization.

The founders determined the date and location of the Congress of the Organization of Trade Unions of Turkic States, which will be held on 29 November 2023 in Turkey in the city of Ankara.

The main goal of the Organization of Trade Unions of Turkic States is the consolidation of actions to protect the social, labor, professional, economic rights and interests of workers. Within the framework of the Organization, a fruitful dialogue and constant interaction between trade union centers, promotion of advanced trade union practices, exchange of experience and impact on the situation in the labor market of the Turkic states as a whole are planned.
