Namangan, China’s Linyi Discuss “Kelajak” Industrial Zone

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Namangan between the regional governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov and Zhu Chao, head of China’s LINYI LANSHAN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT GROUP, who arrived from Linyi city in Shandong province.

During the talks, the Chinese side presented an initiative to establish a foreign investor service center in Namangan region and develop a new large-scale industrial zone called “Kelajak” covering an area of 100 hectares.

The proposed investment center is expected to facilitate communication between foreign investors and government bodies, organize negotiations, and provide practical support for business projects.

The governor of Namangan region expressed readiness to create the necessary conditions for attracting and supporting foreign investors.

The parties also discussed prospects for signing a memorandum of cooperation between Namangan region and Linyi city as sister regions. A preliminary agreement was reached following the talks.

In addition, an official visit by the mayor of Linyi to Namangan region is expected in September this year.

The implementation of the initiative is expected to contribute to increased foreign investment inflows, job creation, and the expansion of the region’s export potential.
