Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The State Security Service, in collaboration with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes and the Inspection for the Regulation of the Alcohol and Tobacco Market, conducted a special operation aimed at protecting consumer rights and preventing the distribution of substandard goods.
During an inspection of warehouses belonging to two private enterprises engaged in the sale of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent, a significant batch of expired products was discovered. Authorities found 79,172 units of non-alcoholic beverages worth 429.63 million soums, as well as 3,374 units of alcoholic beverages valued at 134.85 million soums.
Additionally, the warehouse contained 25,746 units of various alcoholic beverages, both domestically produced and imported, lacking proper documentation. The total value of these goods amounted to 1.187 billion soums.
Investigators determined that the expiration dates of most non-alcoholic beverages had been altered using a special liquid, after which the products were intended for sale.
